HXP Mercury Short-Arc Lamps from Osram

Osram HXP mercury lamps are short arc lamps in which the luminous arc burns in an atmosphere of mercury vapor at high pressure. They utilize the halogen cycle and are constructed exclusively for ac operation. Their main characteristics and benefits are:

· Very high luminance
· Elliptical reflector for efficient focusing of the light
· Long lamp life
· AC operation with square-wave current

Manufacturer Safety Instructions
Because of their high luminance, UV radiation and internal pressure in the hot state, HXP mercury short-arc lamps may only be operated in enclosed lamp casings specially constructed for the purpose. Mercury is released if the lamp breaks. Special safety precautions must be taken. Please refer to the leaflet included with each lamp or the operating instructions.
